Meeks Park and the Union County Recreation Department

Art in Meeks Park

Meeks Park in Blairsville, Georgia is home to traditional and modern art including several large kinetic sculptures by local artist Al Garnto.

Butternut Creek Arts & Crafts Festival

The Butternut Creek Arts & Crafts Festival is held in Meeks Park every July. This festival is one of the finest juried arts and crafts shows in the southeast. The two day festival showcases the work of 65 artists and craftsmen in categories from basketry, fine art, fabric art, and decorative painting, to glass, jewelry, metal working, photography, pottery, scrimshaw, and woodturning. This exciting free event is fun for the whole family!

Food vendors interesting in the Butternut Creek Festival should contact the Union County Recreation Department for an application. All other vendors should contact the High Country Artisans. Their contact information is availabe at the Butternut Creek Festival web site.
